When did you start dancing? I found the world of dance in Bendigo 2004 and I was immediately hooked.
How did you start dancing? I started to learn the Street Latin style which was mainly Salsa. After a few years and having done the Street Latin awards, I decided to have a go at Ballroom… I loved it!
How long have you been competing? I have been competing as an Amateur registered dancer in DanceSport with my partner Sil since 2014.
What are your certifications? In 2017 I became an accredited dance instructor in the three styles of Standard, Latin American and New Vogue.
What is your favourite dance and style? My favourite dance and style is Foxtrot in Standard, as I love the smooth sensation of this dance.
What are your goals in dancing? My goals in dancing are to help introduce/teach the people of Bendigo and beyond how to Ballroom dance and understand the benefits of how good dancing can be for the mind and body.
I love all that dance brings to my life. Friendship, travel, fitness, challenges, opportunity and the chance to be free in the moment with the music.
When did you start dancing? Growing up in country Victoria I was taken to local Saturday dances with family and did a little bush dancing at primary school.
How did you start dancing? I’ve danced on and off since childhood but had never taken it seriously until starting my dance journey at a local dance school in Bendigo where I started learning Street Latin (Salsa/Cha Cha/Argentine Tango/Merengue) around 2004/5.
How long have you been competing? Becoming a registered Amateur dancer in 2014, I started competing in New Vogue with my partner Rob, we are still actively competing
What are your certifications? After tearing my right ACL (knee ligament) playing soccer in 2008, I spent 2009 recovering and limping around the dance studio before challenging myself to gain my Zumba instructor accreditation in early 2010.
What dance experiences have you had? I was fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to Puerto Rico in 2006 with a group of dancers to attend the Salsa Congress, what an amazing experience it was!
